Benefits of Mat Pilates
Private mat pilates sessions are all about you – your goals, your pace, your focus.
Reduced Aches and Pains
Private mat pilates helps improve overall body alignment, muscle balance, mobility, and spine flexibility, all of which will help to reduce bodily aches and pains.
Suitable for Anyone
Private mat pilates sessions consist of slow, controlled movements of the body, meaning anyone can do it. You don’t need to worry about your age, fitness level, or body shape.
Unlike in a pilates class setting, you’ll be able to ask as many questions as you like. Irek will give you total guidance in your positions, adjustments, and movements.
Reduce Anxiety & Stress
Private mat pilates has fantastic health benefits. A private session will leave you feeling stronger and more in tune with your body so that you can face your day with confidence.
Aids in Sports Performance
If you regularly participate in other sports, private mat pilates will be a great addition to your routine by helping to prevent injuries, build better balance, and increase mind-body coordination.
Tailored to You
Private mat pilates means that Irek’s focus is solely on you. Your session will be adjusted to suit your needs and goals whether that’s building muscle tone or improving overall stability.
Private Mat Pilates sessions use small pilates equipment on the mat while performing slow and controlled exercises.
This exercise soft ball is used during your Pilates workout to hold between your shins, bringing an extra level of engagement for the inner thighs and abdominals.
You can also try push-ups with one hand on the floor and the other on the ball to build strength in your shoulders, squatting with the ball between your knees to strengthen the glutes and buttocks, and squeezing the ball between your thighs to align the knees and engage the core.
Pilates Resistance Ring
The resistance ring is a simple way to tone your muscles and strengthen your core used Pilates workouts.
The Pilates Resistance ring is a spring-like fitness prop that is made from metal with padded handles on either side. Gripping the handles between your hands, thighs, and other body parts while applying gentle pressure creates resistance and speeds up the toning process.
A foam roller is a lightweight foam cylinder that you use to balance different body parts on during a pilates workout.
Using the foam roller can increase your range of motion, flexibility, and mobility while boosting circulation and lymphatic flow.
What Is Private Mat Pilates?
Private mat pilates sessions take place using a mat and small equipment instead of the larger equipment. It consists of performing slow and controlled exercises using small equipment like the magic wheel, a resistance band, a gym ball, and foam rollers.
What If I’m New to Pilates?
No problem! It can be difficult to know where to start when you first begin practicing Pilates. Private mat pilates sessions with Irek are a great place to start if you want to improve your flexibility, muscle tone, or improve overall fitness.
What If I Have an Injury or Medical Concern?
Many injuries or medical conditions can be worked around by providing modifications to poses. Some injuries can even benefit from Pilates. Always notify Irek before your session so that he can adjust the session accordingly and keep you safe.
Where Will My Session Be?
Irek teaches private mat pilates out of his studio in London, Integrity Centre, located at 25 Finsbury Circus, EC2N 7EE. Or, you can join your private mat Pilates session online (via Zoom). Zoom link will be provided at the beginning of the class.
What Should I Wear?
Pilates is best practiced in clothes that are comfortable, and easy to move and stretch in.
What Should I Bring?
If you’re attending a private mat pilates session in person, the main thing you need is yourself and comfortable clothes to move in! Irek is able to provide all Pilates equipment. If you’re attending an online session, a yoga mat is ideal although you can use a blanket on the floor and household items like a ball.
How Many Private Sessions Should I Book?
Depending on what your goals are, Irek will recommend how many private sessions will benefit you. It’s suggested to book 10 private sessions on a weekly basis to have visible results and experience benefits.
