Previously a restaurant manager and sommelier, Irek took the leap in 2015 and decided to build a career around his true passion for sports and helping others.
After training to become a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist, Irek realized that while the massage aspect of healing the body was important, true long-term healing comes from conscious movement and building of strength. And so, studying the Pilates Level 3: CCSB qualification to become a Pilates Instructor came naturally to Irek!
With a multi-disciplinary background, Irek knows it’s important to incorporate mindful movement into his pilates workouts, working your whole body with simple, low-impact movements to establish a strong foundation.
Whether you are training for a marathon, recovering from injury, or have aches & pains from desk work, Irek will help you become more aware of your postural alignment, muscle imbalances and will effectively guide you in optimizing your physical health and wellbeing!
Irek’s group Pilates classes are taught in the studio and online through Zoom!
Classes include Pilates Blast, Pilates Level 1-2, Pilates Workout, and Restorative Pilates, all with variations available to suit any fitness level needs.
This class closes my working day really nicely. It gives me an opportunity to stretch and reset the muscles that I contracted for the day working from home on my laptop. Irek is a very encouraging and understanding teacher, explains breathing during pilates well and the pace of the class is perfect! Be prepared to sweat during class! Wow. Who knew such little movements could achieve so much. Brilliant class, I could tell after the class (and a few days later) that this style of Pilates would sculpt my body if I practiced frequently. Irek’s teaching style is encouraging and the slight adjustments he makes to ensure you’re doing the exercise properly is invaluable. I love this studio and it’s personable feel, it will definitely be where I practice Pilates and Yoga for the foreseeable future.
